SMRITI MANDHANA: AN UNBELIEVABLE!!! INCREDIBLE!!! REMARKABLE.... INNING .

50 runs, in just 18 balls!!!😱😱😱.....Can u imagine???

Yeahh....!! 

It have happened in the ground in Taunton in Kia Women's Cricket Super League T20 tournament.
And this unbelievable inning is played by the star of Indian  women cricket SMRITI MANDHANA.
Yes u have read it right ... ,It is done by a women player of Indian cricket team.




This inning was played by SMRITI MANDHANA by playing for the team Western Storm against Loughborough Lightning at   Kia women cricket superleague 
 in Taunton.
From the  very beginning of the play, she was looking very aggressive.As a opener for Western Storm ,she started her inning with a massive six and during her inning she smashed four boundaries and five sixes in the rain truncated six-over each side match.She took only 18 balls to reach to the landmark of  fifty,which is the fastest  not only by the any batswoman in the tournament but also the joint fastest by any woman in T-20 cricket along with Newzealand's Sophie Devine's 18-balls fifty against India in bangalore in 2015.

Through this tremendous inning of Smriti ,Western Storm scored 85 runs in six overs.With the help of  this innings they were able to beat the Loughborough Lightning by 18 runs. Although Sophie Devine was also present in the opponent team , she was also looking in  form  and hit 46 runs in 21 balls but it was not enough to achieve victory.



Walk of Life:

Smriti was born on 18 JULY,1996 in Mumbai (Maharashtra).She completed her schooling in Madhavnagar, Sangli inMaharashtra. She was inspired by her brother,Shravan who played Maharashtra state under 16s tournament. At the age of nine she was selected in the Maharashtra 's under 15 team. She was selected for the Maharashtra under-19s team ,when she was eleven. Smriti is a left handed batsman and her bowling style is Right-arm off break.


International Career:

  • Mandhana made her Test debut in August,2014 against England at Wormsley park.
  • In the second ODI game of India's tour of Australia in 2016 at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart, Mandhana scored her maiden international hundred in 109 balls.
  • Mandhana came into the team for the 2017 World Cup after recovering from an injury which sustained for five months.
  • She began the World Cup with a 90 against England in Derby. 
  • Mandhana was part of the Indian team to reach the final of the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup.    

Smriti As a  National Crush:

During the Womens Cricket World Cup 2017 Smriti's smile and beautiful eyes became viral on social media .People on social site twitter are praising her beauty. Not only this, people are telling her their new crush on social media. Some people tweeted that Smriti has left behind the Bollywood actress Disha Patani and now she has become a new crush of fans instead of Disha Patani.

Achievements:

  • Smriti is the first Indian woman to score a double- hundred in a one-day game in the under-19 tournament.
  • Smriti along with Harmanpreet Kaur became one of the first two Indians to be signed up with Brisbane Heat  for the Women's Big Bash League .
  • Smriti is the only Indian woman to play in Kia Super League from the side of Western Storm.
  • Mandhana was the only Indian player to be named in the ICC Women's Team of the Year 2016.
  • Smriti has the joint world record of fastest fifty (50 runs in 18 balls) in T-20 with Newzealand's Sophie Devine.

Through this outstanding inning of Smriti Mandhana,we can see that womens are walking shoulder to shoulder with mens. Just like our Indian Men's team is playing phenomenal cricket , our women's cricket team is also playing impressive. 
In our male dominant society, we assume that mens are superior than woman, but, it is not so. We think that cricket is only for mens but this inning shows that womens can also play sensational cricket.
